Operation Filtered Water Cooler: the Launch
In a  cramped Port Melbourne office in September 1997, armed with an internationally researched business plan, Shane lead a young but experienced  and proven* water cooler team in launching Unlimited Water – on a mission to bring a world-class water cooler product and formula mainstream to the offices of Australian business – the Filtered water cooler.  Enter Unlimited Water, the plumbed, bottle-less, streamlined alternative to bottled water coolers.

The initial launch was a success, with strong initial interest from Melbourne’s Corporates and SME’s who appeared dissatisfied with their bottled water coolers.  Unlimited Water’s plan to initially focus on inner Melbourne offices quickly grew by demand out to Greater Melbourne metro, then onto Sydney, Brisbane and by the early 2000’s a Service coverage across the suburbs of each State’s capital city. 

As explosive growth ensued, the operational challenges emerged (sourcing and proving the most effective and reliable components, assembling a strong management team), along with the competitive challenges: some established Bottled water cooler Multinationals preferred the status-quo! We saw a ‘turbo-service’ philosophy as the key to sustained success battling these giants. In the early 2000’s a meticulous Quality System service was developed in line with worldwide industry best practice, and we engaged a talented management Team in the mission. From there a robust and consistent growth pattern stabilised, and the Customer base grew year on year into the multiple Thousands.

Today, Unlimited Water is a National Leader in filtered water coolers and has set new standards in office water, with outstanding Product quality and literally unrivalled Customer satisfaction levels.  Businesses are upgrading to Unlimited Water coolers, as they’re recognising that employees are their most important resource, and a facility that helps sustain staff – in a ‘hands-off’ manner – more than pays for itself.  Around 8,000 Corporate and SME Customer coolers-in-service, are replenishing 100,000’s of office workers each day with freshly filtered Unlimited Water.  Our client base features the who’s-who in every Australian industry, from  the local suburban shop to the likes of Holden, Ford and Honda, the NAB and the CBA, TNT, P&O, the Airports, Government & scientific agencies and so on...  even water companies themselves have chosen Unlimited Water coolers for their staff to drink.
